Two injured after ute overturns at Moorebank

Two teenagers were injured, when a utility carrying eight people overturned at Moorebank this morning

About 2.50am (Saturday 24 August 2019), a stolen Toyota Hilux was travelling along Junction Road when it overturned.

Two male passengers ran from the scene before emergency services arrived.

A 16-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, who were both passengers, were trapped in the vehicle. They had to be released by rescue personnel.

They are receiving treatment at Liverpool Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, a 16–year-old boy, was taken to Liverpool Hospital for further medical checks and mandatory testing.

Inquiries are continuing to identify the teenagers who ran from the scene. Police from Liverpool Police Area Command are concerned they might be in need of medical treatment

The two females and six males travelling in the Hilux at the time it overturned are understood to be aged between 16 and 17.
