Two juveniles charged after police pursuit - Schofields

Two male juveniles will appear in court tomorrow following a police pursuit through Sydney's north west this morning.

Just after 8am today (Tuesday 18 October 2022), police received a report that a white BMW had been stolen from a home in Rouse Hill overnight.

Police located the vehicle in Schofields and attempted to stop it on Boundary Road Vineyard. When it failed to do so, a pursuit was initiated and terminated a short time later in Pitt Town due to safety concerns.

With assistance from PolAir, the vehicle was monitored travelling through north west Sydney, before being abandoned on at a carpark on Railway Terrace, Schofields about 9.20am.

A perimeter was established, and a search of the surrounding area commenced with the Dog Unit, Public Order and Riot Squad and local police.

A short time later, two males – aged 14 and 16 years – were arrested inside a nearby shopping centre. They were both taken to Riverstone Police Station.

The vehicle has been seized by police and will undergo forensic examination.

The older youth was charged with police pursuit - not stop-drive dangerously, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, and dishonestly obtain property by deception.

The other male was charged with be carried in conveyance without consent of owner and dishonestly obtain property by deception.

They were both refused bail and will appear in a children's court tomorrow (Wednesday 19 October 2022).
