Two men charged after 141 MDMA tablets seized, NSW

Two men have been charged after 141 MDMA tablets were seized by police in separate incidents in Potts Point yesterday, NSW Police say.

Last night today, officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command were patrolling in a nightclub on Bayswater Road when they stopped and spoke to a 23-year-old man.

It will be alleged a search of the man resulted in police locating 51 MDMA tablets.

A short time later, police spoke to a 21-year-old man nearby in the club, when it’s alleged he attempted to run from police.

A short distance away from the premises, police located the man and a search of him resulted in 90 MDMA capsules found allegedly in his possession.

All drugs were seized for forensic examination and the two men, who are not believed to be known to each other, were arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.

The 23-year-old was charged with supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), and possess prohibited drug.

The 21-year-old man was charged with a number of offences including supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), possess prohibited drug, resisted officer in execution of duty, and knowing deal with proceeds of crime.


Both men were granted conditional bail and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 11 April 2017.
