Two men charged following police pursuit in North Strathfield

Two men have been charged following a police pursuit in Sydney’s west today, NSW Police say.

Just before 12.30am today, police from Parramatta Local Area Command attempted to stop a Holden Barina in O’Connell Street at Parramatta for a random breath test.

A pursuit was initiated when the driver of the Holden failed to stop for police.

The vehicle travelled along the M4 Motorway before stopping at Concord Road at Strathfield.

Two men in the vehicle were arrested at the scene.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, was taken to Flemington Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit – not stop (‘Skye’s Law’) and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 7 September 2016.

The passenger, a 22-year-old man, was taken to Flemington Police Station where he was charged with assault police and custody of knife in public place.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 23 August 2016.
