Two men charged following report to Police Assistance Line in Blacktown

Two men have been charged with alleged property offences in Blacktown after a report was made to the Police Assistance Line (131 444) yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 6.30pm yesterday, a man contacted the Police Assistance Line to report the theft of tools and a mobile phone from his vehicle in Warwick Lane.

Officers from Blacktown Local Area Command attended and spoke with the man.

A short time later, officers saw a vehicle parked in Mantaka Street and spoke to a man sitting inside.

Officers arrested the man after allegedly locating the mobile phone and tools inside the vehicle.

A second man was also arrested when he allegedly returned to the vehicle with several items suspected of being stolen.

Both men, aged 39 and 75, were taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with goods in custody.

Both were granted conditional bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 11 August 2016.

Inquiries are continuing.
