Two men charged with drug offences, NSW

Two men have been charged with drug offences in Tweed Heads South yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 8.45am on Wednesday 14 February 2018, police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command with assistance from the Dog Unit, executed a search warrant at a unit on William Street, Tweed Heads South.

Two men were arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.

Police located and seized prohibited drugs believed to be methylamphetamine (ice), MDMA (ecstasy) and cannabis.

Items including an amount of cash and a prohibited weapon were also seized.

A 54-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug (x3) and possess prohibited weapon without licence.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 12 March 2018.

A 24-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug (x2), possess prohibited drug (x3), deal with proceeds of crime and carry weapon upon apprehension.

He was refused bail and will appear at Byron Bay Local Court today (Thursday 15 February 2018).
