Two men wanted after a business break-in at Albert Park, SA

Police are searching for two men after they broke into a business and stole a car at Albert Park overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after 9.30pm, Monday 6 February, police were called to Port Road after reports a person was seen inside a business premises.

As police arrived a utility with two male occupants drove away from the building. Police attempted to stop the car however the driver refused to pull over.

Police pursued the vehicle for a short time through a number of back streets in Albert Park before terminating the pursuit due to safety reasons.

The vehicle was sighted numerous times on Bower Road however was not pursued by police.

Just before 10pm the car stopped in the car park of the Peterhead train station and the two men got out and attempted to run away. An officer attempted to arrest the passenger when the driver got back into the stolen vehicle and reversed the car attempting to hit the officer. Fortunately the officer moved out of the way of the vehicle and was not injured but the utility collided with the police car.

The two men again drove off and police lost sight of the car.

The car was found a short time later abandoned on Peterhead Street at Peterhead.

Checks conducted revealed that the car was stolen from the business premises the men had broken into.

Police searched the area with the assistance of a police dog but did not locate the two males.

Both suspects are described as being of slim build and wearing dark hooded jumpers.
