Two more men have now been charged in connection with an alleged public order incident in Sydney’s west earlier this month, NSW Police say.
About 7.20pm on Thursday 7 April 2016, police were called to Mount Druitt Railway Station, following reports a large group of people were fighting at the location.
Officers from Mount Druitt Local Area Command attended and located two groups of people at the station, and on North Parade.
Police dispersed the crowd of about 100 people and – following a canvass of the surrounding area – located and seized several items including a Molotov cocktail, knife and golf club.
During the incident, a 54-year-old woman was injured. She was taken to Mt Druitt Hospital for minor head and neck injuries.
To date, three 18-year-old men and two 19-year-old men have been charged in relation to the alleged incident.
Following further inquiries, a man, aged 20, was arrested at a Whalan address yesterday.
He has since been charged with riot and possession of an offensive implement (x2).
A man, aged 19 was arrested at his home address in Doonside today.
He was charged with riot and possession of an offensive implement.
Both men were refused bail and will appear in Mt Druitt Local Court today.
This brings the number of arrests to seven, and police are continuing their investigations.
