Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision that has left one man deceased and a woman with serious injuries in Seville this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
It is believed the man and woman were walking along Monbulk-Seville Road near Wandin Creek Road when they were struck by a car shortly after 1pm today.
Emergency services treated the two people struck but the man died at the scene.
The woman has been airlifted to hospital.
The male driver of the car was arrested at the scene and has been taken to hospital.
The Monbulk-Seville Road has been closed at Aitken Road and Wandin Creek Road, with police asking motorists to avoid the area.
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and are keen to speak to anyone that may have witnessed the collision.
