Two people charged following home invasion, NSW

Two people have been charged following a home invasion in Sanctuary Point yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9.45pm yesterday, a 40-year-old man was at home on Karne Street with his wife and two-year-old child when he heard a smashing sound coming from the front of the house.

He got up to investigate and saw four males coming through his front door.

They were armed with bats and allegedly assaulted the occupant before running from the location.

His wife and child were not hurt.

Police were called and a crime scene was established while the occupant received treatment to two lacerations to his head.

Following investigations by detectives from Shoalhaven Local Area Command, a 41-year-old man was arrested at a home on Penguin Street, Sanctuary Point today.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence.

He was given conditional bail and will appear in Nowra Local Court on 9 March 2017.

A 16-year-old male handed himself in yesterday to police at Huskisson Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence.

He was also given conditional bail and will appear in Nowra Children’s Court on 9 March 2017.
