Two people in police custody following Eastern Shore evade incident, TAS

Two people are in police custody being questioned following an evade police incident in Rokeby this morning, Tasmania Police say.

Around 9am, police attempted to intercept a stolen white 2015 Holden Commodore SSV being driven on the South Arm Highway. The vehicle evaded police and sped from the area. Police deployed road spikes and intercepted the vehicle a short time later in the Rokeby area.

A 40-year-old man from Clarendon Vale and a 35-year-old woman of no fixed place of abode were arrested by police after running from the vehicle. They remain in police custody being questioned in relation to the incident.

The stolen vehicle was recovered by police.
