Two police cars damaged and man arrested at Smithfield Plains, SA

A man has been arrested and two police cars have been damaged after a pursuit at Smithfield Plains today, according to SA Police.

Police will allege that about 10.30am on Tuesday, 21 August a patrol attempted to stop a stolen Holden sedan in Sterling Court, but the driver refused to stop and sped away.

The sedan then crashed into two patrol cars before driving over Coventry Road. The driver ran from the sedan and was arrested soon after.

No one was injured.

A 23-year-old man from North Plympton will face a number of charges including engaging in a police pursuit, acts to endanger life, driving unlicenced and driving under the influence.

He was refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
