Two stabbed at Ermington home

An investigation is underway after two people were stabbed at a home in Ermington this morning.

Emergency services were called to the home on Florida Avenue about 2.45am (Tuesday 31 March 2020), responding to reports two people had been injured.

They were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital where the woman remains in a critical but stable condition; the man is now stable.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command have established a crime scene and initiated inquiries.

A second man, aged in his 80s, was also at the home but has been injured.

The man and woman are known to each other.

Strike Force Mirambeena has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Inquiries are continuing.
