Two teens arrested over CBD theft , SA

Two teenagers have been arrested following the aggravated theft of cash from a Gouger Street business yesterday, according to SA Police.

Just after 3pm on Thursday 26 July, a group of teenagers walked into a business on Gouger Street and allegedly stole a substantial amount of cash from a bag in staff room and then ran from the premises.

Police investigations into the incident led them to a Seaton address where they located a 17-year-old girl from Parafield Gardens and numerous receipts for recently purchased clothing. The girl was arrested for aggravated theft.

Just after 2am on Friday 27 July, further investigations took Eastern District police to a Plympton Park home, where they located a 16-year-old boy from Elizabeth South. The youth was allegedly in possession of numerous bags of new clothing that had been purchased the day before, using cash.

The boy was charged with aggravated theft and unlawfully on premises, he has been refused police bail and expected to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court later today.

The teenage girl arrested has been bailed to appear in court at a later date.

Police enquiries are continuing but at this stage none of the stolen cash has been recovered.
