Two Teens Charged After Dubbo Home Invasion Threat With Cleaver

Two teenage boys have been charged as police continue to search for four others following an alleged armed home invasion in Dubbo this morning.

About 1.30am (Thursday 8 October 2026), police were called to a home on St Brigids Circuit, Dubbo, following reports of a home invasion.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attended and found a group of teens allegedly attempting to steal two vehicles from the property before running from the area upon police arrival.

Police pursued the group on foot before arresting two boys – both aged 15 – nearby; however, four other teenage boys left the scene.

Following the arrests police were told the group had broken into the home before threatening the resident – a 32-year-old woman – with a meat cleaver and stealing car keys from the property.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

A crime scene was established at the home, and both boys were taken to Dubbo Police Station where they were charged with aggravated break & enter & commit serious indictable offence-people there.

They were both refused bail to appear before a children's court today.

As inquiries continue, police are asking anyone who saw a group of boys running from the area at the time of the incident or has dashcam footage or CCTV vision to contact Dubbo Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
