Two vehicle collision – Stanley Main Road, TAS

Shortly after 2pm on Tuesday the 13th September 2016, police attended a two vehicle collision on Stanley Main Road between the township of Stanley and the Bass Highway, Tasmania Police say.

A white Volkswagen van travelling towards Stanley collided with a black Ford dual cab utility travelling south.

The van was being driven by a 48 year old manfrom Kempton and had to be cut free from the vehicle.  A 38 year old man from Edgcumbe Breach was the driver of the black utility.  Both the divers were the sole occupants of the vehicles and were transported by ambulance to the North West Regional Hospital with injuries.

The road was blocked for two hours and the vehicles involved were extensively damaged.

Police from Stanley Marine, Smithton, Accident Investigation and Public Order Response Team attended as well as Ambulance, SES and Fire personnel.
