Two vehicle crash on Tasman Highway at Beaumaris

An East Coast man is in a serious but stable condition following a crash with a truck on the Tasman Highway at Beaumaris today, Tasmania Police say.

Police and emergency services were called to the crash between a black utility and a truck about 10.30am today.

Initial investigations indicate that the driver of the utility failed to give way to the truck.

The 29 year old driver of the utility, from Scamander, was taken by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a serious but stable condition.

The 50 year old driver of the truck, from Hobart, was uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact St Helens Police on 63761122 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
