Two vehicles stolen during break-in in Northern Beaches

An investigation is underway after two vehicles were stolen from a home on the Northern Beaches while the owner was sleeping, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 2am (Tuesday 26 June 2018), the occupant of a home on Richmond Road, Seaforth, was woken by the sound of his dog barking.

He got out of bed to investigate and noticed his back door open and two sets of car keys missing.

As he looked outside he noticed his 2017 red Mercedes Station wagon, registration number DSG39X was missing, along with his 2018 grey Volkswagen sedan DWT88W.

The owner reported the matter to police and officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended the home and commenced inquiries.

A description of the stolen vehicles was broadcast over police radio and both vehicles were spotted by police on The Spit Bridge.

A pursuit was initiated however due to the dangerous manner of driving officers terminated the chase.

Police are now searching for the stolen cars and are appealing for anyone who may see either of the vehicles to contact Triple Zero.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
