Two-year-old girl critical after near drowning in North Richmond

A child has been taken to hospital after a near drowning in the Hawkesbury region.

About 3pm on Friday 29 September 2017, emergency services were called to Hanna Park, North Richmond, after a two-year-old girl was found unresponsive on the edge of the riverbank.

CPR was performed at the scene by a witness and continued when NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.

The girl was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead where she remains in a critical condition, NSW Police say.


Officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
