UK Public Guardian Office Names New Non-Executive Director

Greig Early has been appointed as the Office of the Public Guardian's (OPG) non-executive director. As well as being a member of OPG Board, Greig will also be a member of our Portfolio and Change Board and the Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee.

Non-executive directors are senior figures from outside government, appointed to provide challenge to departments and executive agencies. Their role is to:

  • give advice to ministers and officials on the operational and delivery implications of policy proposals
  • provide independent support, guidance and challenge on the progress and implementation of the organisation's strategic direction
  • advise on performance and monitor implementation of business plans

On Greig's appointment, Public Guardian and Chief Executive, Amy Holmes, said:

We're delighted to have Greig join the OPG Board. His knowledge and experience, especially around digital transformation, will be welcomed as we aim to progress our modernising lasting power of attorney services.
