The Whitsundays region is buzzing with anticipation as a resident or visitor holds an unclaimed jackpot winning ticket from the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4449.
The mystery Cannonvale winner held one of the eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4449 on Saturday 9 March 2024, scoring a $620,369.07 slice from the 5 million lotto jackpot on Saturday 9 March 2024.
However, as the winning entry is not registered to a player card, officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the ticketholder and must wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.
The winning entry was purchased at News Whitsunday, Shop T3, Whitsunday Plaza, 8 Galbraith Park Drive, Cannonvale.
News Whitsunday owner Rich Bates said he was delighted with the news his store had sold a major winning ticket.
“For our local community here in the Whitsundays, it’s a great celebration, to which we hope one of our locals is holding the winning ticket,” he said.
“We have had many customers coming into the store very excited that we’re a winning store – both this division one and also a top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket in the last few weeks.
“We look forward to hearing from the lucky winner!”
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he hoped the Whitsunday’s latest division one winner checked their ticket and came forward soon.
“Our elusive winner is likely oblivious to the fact they’ve won more than $620,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw,” he said.
“We’re urging anyone who purchased a Saturday Gold Lotto ticket from News Whitsunday to check their tickets today!
“How exciting would it be to discover you’ve won division one? It would be an unforgettable moment and one that would certainly alter any plans you already had for the year ahead!

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4449 on 9 March 2024 were 11, 25, 17, 3, 2 and 31, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 24.
