Understanding recycling: How does it work?

MPSLogo_News.jpg

What exactly happens to your recycling after it is collected? How are all the co-mingled items separated and processed?

Join us for a free online workshop to help take some of the mystery out of recycling.

Watch what happens at a material recovery facility as a series of conveyor belts, material specific machines, manual sorters and massive trommels make light work of separating 340 tonnes of mixed used packaging a day.

You will also learn some valuable recycling dos and don'ts.

These sessions are presented by the Rethink Centre, an education initiative helping communities rethink the amount of waste they produce and where it goes.
