Unlawful entry charges at Broadbeach, QLD

A man has been charged after a sum of cash was allegedly stolen from a fast food outlet at Broadbeach yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Police will allege at around 3.15pm an unarmed man entered a business on the Gold Coast Highway, approached the counter and demanded money from staff.

The man was provided with an amount of cash which he then allegedly took from the store.

It is further alleged that the man attempted to enter a number of vehicles parked in the carpark without success before leaving the scene.

Police later located a man allegedly sitting inside a vehicle with a smashed window on Surf Parade.

Officers made several requests for the man to display his hands however were forced to deploy a conductive energy device in order to subdue him after he refused to comply.

He was taken into custody without further incident and transferred to hospital for observation before been released back into police custody.

A 32-year-old Edens Landing man has been charged with enter premises and commit indictable offence, two counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and obstruct police officer.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 10.
