Unlawful use of a motor vehicle at Surfers Paradise, QLD

Police arrested a boy, girl and woman after they were observed travelling in a stolen car at Surfers Paradise last night, Queensland Police say.

Around 11pm, an off-duty officer observed the stolen Mercedes Benz travelling southbound on the M1 at Coomera.

Polair was advised and around 11.49pm a police dog squad officer observed the vehicle on Olsen Avenue at Labrador.

The vehicle was tracked by Polair to Blake Street in Southport where it stopped and the boy driver entered a nearby residence.

Police then approached the stationary vehicle, arresting a front and rear seat passenger without incident.

It will then be alleged the driver fled on foot after seeing police but was located in a nearby yard and taken into custody without incident.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving without a licence.

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 19-year-old Surfers Paradise woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle

The car was allegedly stolen from a Blondell Avenue home in Surfers Paradise sometime overnight on Friday, September 29.
