Unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges in Logan, QLD

Two men have been charged following an alleged evade police incident in Logan yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged Logan police observed a stolen Holden Commodore driving at excessive speed on Loganlea Road around 1.50pm.

The vehicle is alleged to have failed to stop for police and sped off and was seen speeding southbound on Kingston Road.

Polair monitored the vehicle and relayed information to police on the ground who followed the vehicle.

The vehicle is then alleged to have stopped in Yates Crescent, Meadowbrook and the two male occupants were taken into custody, with police arresting one man at a nearby service station and the other in the car park of a nearby shopping centre.

A 31-year-old Slacks Creek man and a 21-year-old Loganlea man were both charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of receiving tainted property. The 31-year-old was also charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop a motor vehicle.

Both men are due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court this today.
