Unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges in Rothwell, QLD

Police have charged four teenagers after a vehicle allegedly attempted to evade police overnight, Queensland Police say.

Just before 7:30pm police observed a car which had been allegedly stolen from Clayfield on January 22 being driven along MacDonnell Road in Clontarf.

It will be alleged when police attempted to intercept the vehicle it fled from officers.

At around 7:45pm police observed the vehicle on the Bruce Highway travelling towards Caboolture, before turning back towards Brisbane.

At 8:15pm police successfully a deployed tyre deflation device on Anzac Avenue in Rothwell and followed the car until it stopped in Sandgate.

The occupants of the vehicle allegedly fled on foot before being taken into custody near the intersection of Keogh Street and Southerden Street.

A 17-year-old Wishart man has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of enter dwelling with intent and burglary.

He is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.

A 17-year-old Kippa-Ring man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is also due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.

An 18-year-old Margate man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 28.

A 14-year-old Caboolture South girl has been charged with three counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.
