Unlawful use of a motor vehicle, Park Ridge South

A man is assisting police with their investigation after POLAIR tracked a vehicle with false plates through Brisbane overnight, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged at 10.45pm, police attempted to intercept a red Holden Commodore utility travelling on Crest Road through Park Ridge, however it failed to stop.

POLAIR1 tracked the vehicle as it travelled through the Park Ridge/Browns Plains area to the Logan Motorway, and then onto the M1 where it drove onto the Gateway Motorway to Eagle Farm, with POLAIR relaying information to police on the ground.

The utility did a U-turn and proceeded to head south on the Gateway where it was partially stung by a tyre deflation device in Murarrie.

The vehicle travelled onto the Logan Motorway before it exited onto the Mount Lindesay Highway and crashed into a barrier at Park Ridge.

The man abandoned the vehicle, made his way to a nearby residence on Hicky Street and stole a parked vehicle.

He put the vehicle in reverse and subsequently crashed into another car, coming to a stop.

The man abandoned that vehicle and fled on foot.

He was located at 12.45am by Police Dog Kuta.

The man was transported to Logan Hospital for treatment after he sustained a dog bite to his lower left arm.

Investigations are continuing.
