Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle in Logan, QLD

Police have charged a 19-year-old woman following an alleged dangerous driving incident through the Logan area overnight, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 12:30am this morning, police in the Logan District sighted a stolen vehicle and requested the assistance of POLAIR to track its movements.

The car travelled south before turning back towards Loganholme and allegedly entering a residential area.

Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at the intersection of Kimberley Drive and Plantain Road, Shailer Park.

The vehicle came to a halt on Plantain Road where it is alleged the driver and passenger fled the scene.

Police commenced a foot chase with the assistance of the dog squad and a 19-year-old woman was taken into custody without further incident.

The woman has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count of drug possession, one count of contravene direction and one count of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking.

She is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 10.

Police are continuing to search for the male driver to assist with their investigations.
