Unsworn specialist command employee charged

An unsworn employee of the New South Wales Police Force has been charged with impersonating a police officer, NSW Police say.

In October 2018, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command (PSC) initiated an investigation into the actions of a 40-year-old man, who is employed in a specialist command.

Following inquiries, the man was yesterday (Tuesday 27 November 2018), issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice (FCAN) for the offence of impersonate a police officer.

He is due to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 21 January 2019.

The man has been suspended.
