Update – Armed robbery in Fortitude Valley, QLD

A man has been charged following investigations into the armed robbery of a convenience store in Fortitude Valley earlier this month, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 2.20am on Thursday, August 2 the man entered the business on Ann Street and threatened an employee with a weapon resembling an electric conductive device before demanding money.

The attendant complied, and the man allegedly fled the shop carrying the till tray which contained a sum of cash.

A 37-year-old Southport man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and remanded in custody.

He is expected to reappear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 28.
