Update: Charges Filed in Alice Springs Fatal Pedestrian Incident

Northern Territory Police have charged the rider involved in a fatal pedestrian crash in Alice Springs in January.

Major Crash detectives arrested the 26-year-old male in Alice Springs this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said "The rider of the off-road motorcycle suffered serious injuries as a result and had remained hospitalised interstate for treatment since the crash.

"Following his return to the Northern Territory, he was arrested by detectives who will allege he was speeding at the time.

"He was charged with dangerous driving causing death as well as driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured."

The man was bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court on 19 June 2024.
