Update – Drink driving charge at Broadbeach, QLD

A woman will face court early next month after the car she was allegedly driving crashed into a shop at Rio Vista Boulevard at Broadbeach on Good Friday this year, Queensland Police say.

During the incident on April 14, it is alleged a customer along with staff narrowly escaped serious injury after the car went through the front glass doors of the seafood shop and came to rest up against the front counter.

It will be alleged the woman provided a B.A.C. (Blood Alcohol Concentration) of 0.25 per cent, five times the legal limit.

A 50-year-old woman from Runaway Bay was today issued with a notice to appear in relation to the offences of driving under the influence of liquor and driving of vehicle without a driver’s licence.

She is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on June 5, 2017.

Investigations are continuing.
