Update On Revolve Centre Closure - Wollongong

The Revolve Centre is recognised as a valued service to our community, offering locals a place to give a second life to their pre-loved items.

Council is committed to re-establishing a safe Revolve Centre as soon as possible.

In late 2025, Council closed the facility and undertook a review, which includes accessibility, navigation, and safety improvements, for the Revolve Centre and the neighbouring Community Recycling Centre (CRC).

Council is working on enhancing the service to the community. The completed improvements at the Revolve Centre and CRC include clearer designation of vehicle lanes, speed limits, and dedicated parking spaces as well as automated boom gates and pedestrian paths.

Council will have some exciting news soon with regards to the delivery of our Revolve Centre and CRC areas, which aim to establish a new and improved Revolve Centre operations.

Our focus is to extend its life span so that it continues to be a much-loved part of the Wollongong Waste and Resource Recovery Park (Whyte's Gully).

We aim to reopen by August 2026.

In the meantime, the closure has not affected the Community Recycling Centre or access to the tip via the weighbridge.

Community members can still drop off items like e-waste, metal, cardboard, and motor oil and have full access to the Community Recycling Centre and can dispose of landfill items which cannot be reused or recycled.

You can also drop of your unwanted items in good shape to your local op shop or second-hand store. Find out how you can continue your sustainable shopping on the Second Hand Shopping page.
