Update – PSPA declaration in Kallangur, QLD

An emergency declared today under the Public Safety and Preservation Act in Kallangur, has since been revoked.

The PSPA was declared shortly after midday after the execution of a search warrant at a residence uncovered what was believed to be explosive material.

The scene has been rendered safe, following a controlled detonation and the material will now be scientifically tested.

A section of Coppin Street West and Gardner Street West were closed bordering the intersections of Archer and Cliff streets which reopened at 4.30pm.

Investigations are continuing with a man aged in his 40s arrested by police after drugs were allegedly located at the residence.
