Update – Suspicious death investigation in North Mackay, QLD

Investigations are continuing following the suspicious death of a man in North Mackay on New Year's Day.

Around 12.30am police were called to Glenpark Street where a 20-year-old man was located injured in a vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

It will be alleged the 20-year-old man and four other people were involved in an altercation within an address in Gemini Court Andergrove, earlier in the evening where he sustained the injury.

A 67-year-old man taken into custody last week has assisted police with these investigations and has since been released without charge.

Detectives have charged an 18-year-old Glenella man, 19-year-old Ooralea woman, 18-year-old Mackay man and 31-year-old Mackay woman for the offence of enter dwelling with intent via notices to appear. All are expected to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on January 22.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
