Update to COVID-19 Directions 23 April 2021, South Australia

Updates have been made to the Supervised Quarantine and Residential Aged Care Facilities Directions in South Australia. Changes to both of these Directions are minor administrative changes which do not significantly impact the way in which South Australia is currently operating.

Supervised Quarantine No 8

The Emergency Management (Supervised Quarantine No 8) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 comes into effect at 12.01am on Saturday 24 April 2021.

Key changes include:

  • This Direction has been updated to clarify that a person directed to undertake supervised quarantine at a quarantine facility must undergo testing requirements which are imposed by Supervised Quarantine Direction and not the Cross Border Travel General Direction.
  • The Direction amends the testing requirements and compliance for employees and contractors has who are present in an airport site to perform work associated with the processing of overseas or restricted zone arrivals including the handling of the luggage.
    • This means that all employees and contractors of SA Police, SA Health, Australian Border Force, Australian Defence Force, and all employees and contractors of the airline or airport operators who are present in at or work in processing designated red zone or restricted zone arrivals must comply with the specified testing schedule and reporting process of COVID-19 symptoms.

Residential Aged Care Facilities No 35

The Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 35) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 comes into effect at 12.01am on Saturday 24 April 2021.

Changes to the Residential Aged Care Facilities Direction are administrative changes only which do not impact the implementation, meaning or intent of the Direction.
