Update – Weapons charges in Raceview, QLD

A man has been charged with weapons offences following an incident in Raceview yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

An emergency situation was declared under the Public Safety Preservation Act at 2.38pm following reports a man was armed inside a South Station Road residence.

At 6.12pm the declaration was revoked after a man was taken into custody without incident.

A 32-year-old Raceview man has since been charged with unlawful possession of a category R weapon, possession of a restricted weapon, possession of utensil and two counts of beach of bail.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on September 4.
