Update: Wounding in Bundaberg, QLD

A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was critically injured during a stabbing at a Bundaberg North residence on Friday night.

It is alleged that around 10.30pm on January 25 a domestic disturbance occurred between a man and a woman who were both visiting the Station Street address.

The 20-year-old man then allegedly armed himself with a knife before being confronted by a 38-year-old male resident.

A physical altercation occurred between the pair during which the 38-year-old man received a serious stab wound to the chest.

The 20-year-old man also sustained a number of injuries as a result of the altercation and was treated in hospital.

He has since been charged with attempted murder and wounding and is due to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court tomorrow (January 29).

The victim remains in a serious condition in hospital.
