Updates to COVID-19 Directions for 20 March 2021, South Australia

Updates have been made to the Cross Border Travel and Residential Aged Care Directions in South Australia. The primary changes are in relation to allowing travel from New Zealand without restriction and the requirement for all travellers to complete a Cross Border Travel Registration Form when entering South Australia.

Cross Border Travel No 41

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel No 40) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel No 41) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction comes into effect at 12:01 am on Saturday 20 March 2021.

The changes are:

  • New Zealand has now been defined as a Low Community Transmission Zone. This means that people can now travel from New Zealand without any restrictions, the need to receive a COVID-19 test or quarantine provided they have been in a Low Community Transmission Zone (WA, NT, QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS, SA or NZ) for the previous 14 days.

Residential Aged Care Facilities No 34

The Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 33) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Residential Aged Care Facilities No 34) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction comes into effect at 12:01 am on Saturday 20 March 2021.

The only change is:

  • The removal of the reference to 'former Victorian arrivals'. People travelling from Low Community Transmission Zones are permitted to enter an aged care facility for purposes permitted by the Direction.
