U.S. and PRC Hold Working Level Meeting on DoD 2021 Annual Report

On November 30, U.S. and PRC defense officials held a working level virtual meeting to discuss the Department's recently released annual report on "Military and Security Developments Involving the People's Republic of China."

The two sides held a constructive discussion to build understanding and maintain open channels of communication between the Department of Defense and the People's Liberation Army per the 2014 Memorandum of Understanding on Notification of Major Military Activities Confidence Building Measure Mechanism.

The U.S. delegation included representatives from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Staff. The PRC delegation included representatives of the Central Military Commission's Office for International Military Cooperation (OIMC).
