Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander will travel the United States next week to participate in key meetings and events focused on Games delivery, venue infrastructure and long-term legacy outcomes.

Minister Mander will be joined by Olympians, Paralympians, government, sport and tourism leaders, while cementing Queensland's reputation as a serious destination for global sport and entertainment.

The Crisafulli Government is delivering the Games Queenslanders deserve after 1200 days of Games chaos under the former Labor government.

Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the visit was an important step in positioning Queensland for success in 2032.

"The United States is preparing to host not only the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, but also the 2026 FIFA World Cup – the two biggest sporting events in the world," Minister Mander said.

"It's critical that we learn from like-minded host nations so we can deliver the best possible Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032.

"I'm looking forward to meeting with a range of key stakeholders, including the LA28 Organising Committee, the American Australian Association and AECOM – the official venue infrastructure partner for LA2028 and a member of our 2032 venue delivery consortium – as well as participate in the Indo Pacific Forum.

"This visit is an opportunity to share expertise on venue delivery, legacy planning and infrastructure investment, allowing discussions that will help us to strengthen relationships in the United States and across the Pacific to ensure we deliver lasting benefits for Queenslanders."
