UUMV And Stealing Charges At Ipswich

Police have charged a man and a woman following investigations into the theft of a motor vehicle and several stolen number plates in Ipswich.

Around 8pm on 5 October, it is alleged the pair stole a 2018 XV Subaru from a Kiah Street address in Eastern Heights after entering the property and stealing a set of car keys.

Between 5 to 7 October the pair are also alleged to have stolen stole two sets of number plates from two vehicles in Gailes and broken into two vehicles in Ripley stealing two wallets and cash.

Around 2.30pm on 7 October, police located the stolen Subaru bearing stolen number plates on Hillier Street in Goodna.

It is alleged when officers intercepted the vehicle the female driver attempted to start the vehicle and drive away before she was arrested and taken into custody.

The male passenger was arrested and taken into custody a short time later after absconding from the scene on foot.

An 18-year-old Leichhardt woman has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of enter premises and commit and stealing and one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess drug and obstruct police.

She has been remanded in custody to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on 9 October.

A 19-year-old Rochedale South man has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property and stealing, two counts of enter dwelling and commit and one count each of enter premises and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on 9 October.
