Vehicle Crime Squad seize $160,000 worth of stolen property at Heathcote Junction

Detectives from the Vehicle Crime Squad have recovered more than $160,000 worth of stolen property and charged a man after a search warrant was executed in Heathcote Junction yesterday.

After a significant investigation police uncovered the treasure trove of stolen machinery and industrial items at a Baden Drive property.

Among the loot seized was an excavator valued at $45,000 which had been stolen from Airport West in 2013.

A $55,000 caravan bearing false number plates was also found along with an LED mobile light tower valued at $35,000.

There were also several trailers, number plates, power tools and even a laundry sink, still in its box, which police have confirmed was stolen in 2018.

A 40-year-old Heathcote Junction man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with seven offences related to handle stolen goods and possess proceeds of crime.

He has been bailed to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates Court on 14 May 2021.
