Vehicle intercept uncovers drugs and cash in Mildura

Mallee Divisional Response Unit officers have charged a man with drug offences following a vehicle intercept in Mildura on Wednesday.

The vehicle was pulled over on Patterson Avenue about 3.40pm as part of a routine intercept.

A search of the vehicle was conducted with investigators allegedly locating a quantity of methylamphetamine and a significant quantity of cash.

The man was arrested, and a search warrant was executed at a property on Ninth Street in Mildura.

The warrant allegedly uncovered evidence of drug trafficking and the man's $70,000 luxury vehicle was also seized.

The 39-year-old Mildura man has been charged with multiple offences including trafficking methylamphetamine, possessing proceeds of crime and driving whilst under the influence of an illicit drug.

He has been remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates' Court on 28 April.
