Northern Territory Police have seized a vehicle under anti-hooning legislation.
An off duty police officer observed a silver Holden Commodore utility drifting out of McKinnon Road, Pinelands, onto Stuart Highway before it conducted a number of burnouts and drove inbound towards Berrimah around 8:30pm on Friday 19 July. The officer was able to obtain details of the offending vehicle before losing sight.
Yesterday police attended to the registered owners work address and issued the 24-year-old male with a $260 infringement notice for drive vehicle causing loss of traction. The vehicle was seized for a 48 hour period and will be released to the owner upon a payment of $319 for towing and storage costs.
