Vehicle stolen in Albert Park

Police are investigating the theft of a rental car from a hotel in Albert Park last month, Victoria Police say.

Just after 11.30pm on 28 December an unknown man attended the Queens Road hotel and walked toward a rental car drop box.

He placed his hand inside the drop box before leaving the unattended rental car reception.

The following day about 12.30am the man returned to the same drop box and again placed his hand inside before leaving.

He then went to the hotel car park and stole a rental car, drove to the boom gates, exited the vehicle and forced the boom gate up.

He got out of the car again and pushed the boom gate back down before driving away.

The man is described as having a solid build, medium height and was wearing a black baseball cap, black singlet top, and black pants.

The man also has extensive tattoos on both arms.

Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
