TOMORROW, Deaf Services and The Deaf Society proudly bring the inaugural, VIBE FESTIVAL to life!

This digital experience of Deaf and hard of hearing culture and community from Australia and abroad opens celebrations for International Week of the Deaf 2020.
12pm Saturday, VIBE FESTIVAL kicks off with an Acknowledgement to Country, followed by Kids Hour, featuring Sally & Possum from ABC TV. This world premiere show has been commissioned exclusively for VIBE FESTIVAL.
Feast on a cooking demonstration by Deaf Chef Ross at lunch. Watch award winning films from Deaf and hard of hearing youth. Learn about an upcoming research project with Australian Deaf historian, Dr Breda Carty. Take an Auslan art tour with Dr Riona Tindal of the Art Gallery of New South Wales and more.
Saturday night heats up from 7pm with drag performances and saucy shows. The evening main event features Deaf drag artist, Mademoiselle Coco, followed by Deaf and hard of hearing aerial acrobatics, Silent Silhouettes.
Sunday's delicious line up continues with Deaf vegan and punk chefs, Deaf art, sustainability, Deaf comedy, dance, a kava ceremony and Auslan poetry.
Don't miss creative insights & panel discussion with Museum of Contemporary Art on Sunday at 4pm. Our finale at 7:30pm features international Deaf comedian The John Smith Show. We close a massive weekend of connection and celebration at 9pm.
This groundbreaking event celebrates the language along with the culture and community of people who rely on Auslan, Australian Sign Language, attracting audiences from all over the world. With free entry, completely online, VIBE FESTIVAL is entirely in Auslan, with English interpreting and captions.
Funded through the support of the City of Parramatta Council Community Grant and the Deaf Lottery. Together with gold partners, Ai-Media and Deaf Culture Council Queensland, our silver partners, ASLIA NSW/ACT and Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children and our bronze partners, we are able to bring an incredible, spectacular celebration the world will watch in awe.
