Today the Victorian Government finalised changes to the Bayside Planning Scheme in Hampton East (Moorabbin Activity Centre).
These planning controls impact an estimated 5,000 properties within the Activity Centre catchment.
Bayside Mayor, Councillor Hanna El Mouallem said, "We are working through the detail of what has been announced today, to understand what we will need to do to ensure Bayside continues to enjoy the services and amenity we have come to value and appreciate."
Today's announcement is part of broader planning reforms being rolled out by the state government. These reforms reduce the role of both Council and the community in the decision-making process, and our ability to respond at a local level.
