Vic Liberals Pledge Rosebud Hospital Rebuild

Liberal Party Victoria

Local families on the Mornington Peninsula are set to benefit from a major investment in healthcare with the Liberals announcing a $340 million plan to completely rebuild Rosebud Hospital.

For years, women, parents, families, carers, and older residents across Nepean have been forced to travel more than an hour to Frankston for essential care — even in emergencies. The outdated facilities at Rosebud Hospital simply haven't kept pace with the growing needs of the community.

Liberal Candidate for Nepean, Anthony Marsh, has long championed the need for a modern, fit‑for‑purpose hospital. As Mayor, he led the Council's largest-ever advocacy campaign, placing the upgrade of Rosebud Hospital at its centre.

Anthony Marsh said the commitment marks a turning point for the community.

"For years as Mayor, I stood alongside locals calling for the upgrades our hospital desperately needs," he said. "Today, with Jess and the new Liberal Team, we're drawing a line in the sand. We will get this done."

"To deliver real outcomes, you need to be part of a team that's focused on results. That's why I'm standing for Nepean — to rebuild Rosebud Hospital and deliver the healthcare our community deserves."

Liberal Leader Jess Wilson said improving healthcare access is one of her team's highest priorities.

"Every Victorian deserves quality healthcare close to home," she said. "Only a vote for Anthony Marsh and the Liberal team in Nepean will deliver the better services local families need."

Under a Wilson Liberal and Nationals Government, that long‑awaited upgrade will finally become reality.

The $340 million redevelopment will:

  • Double current bed capacity, reducing wait times and improving access
  • Expand the emergency department, ensuring faster, safer care for local families
  • Integrate aged care and specialist medical services, keeping essential support close to home
  • Deliver a modern, full‑service hospital designed to meet the Peninsula's needs for generations

Construction will begin within the first term of a Wilson Liberal and Nationals Government.

Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier, added that Labor has failed to meet the needs of the Peninsula.

"Labor has neglected Rosebud Hospital for far too long," she said. "Only a Wilson Liberal and Nationals Government will deliver a larger, modern hospital that supports Nepean families well into the future."
