A retired man from Wangaratta, Victoria, is the latest to join the ranks of millionaires after winning more than $1.7 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw. Holding one of the six division one winning entries in draw 4415 on November 11, 2023, he secured a total prize of $1,745,043.22.
In a call with a lotto official, the winning man expressed his disbelief and joy.
“This is amazing mate! I can’t believe it,” he laughed.
“I’ve been retired for a little while and there’s very few problems in my life, but any worries or stress have completely left my body now."
The unexpected win came as a total shock to him.
“You never expect something like this to happen to you and when it does it floors you!"
The winner plans to share his fortune with his children and grandchildren, aiming to positively impact their lives. Despite the windfall, he intends to maintain his current lifestyle, emphasizing that it will be "business as usual" for him.
“For me, it’ll be business as usual. It’s going to make my life a lot easier and ensure I can relax for the foreseeable future," he said.
“I’ve got a couple of kids and grandchildren, and I can’t wait to let them know. I’m going to change their lives".
"There are also a few things around the house that need to be done but I’ve been putting those off. Looks like I’ve got no excuse now!"
The winning entry was purchased at Wangaratta Lotto Card & Tobacconist, 69 Reid Street, Wangaratta.
The store owners, Sara and Damian D’Agostino, were thrilled to have sold another division one winning entry.
“This is amazing! It’s always such a wonderful feeling to know you’ve helped change a customer’s life but it’s also fantastic to have sold another division one winning entry!” they said.
The store plans to celebrate this occasion and share the news with the community.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4415 were 2, 1, 30, 28, 24, and 23, with supplementary numbers 39 and 29. The draw produced six division one winners across Australia – three in Victoria, two in Western Australia, and one in New South Wales.
